Didn't spend too much time in Tucson. Spent a lot more time points south. Nogales, Mexico is kind of wild. Bellied up to the bar in the Crystal Palace Saloon in Tombstone and ordered a club soda and cranberry juice with a lime squeeze. Then went to Juarez thinking I'd smoke some Cuban cigars and take in a bullfight, but I found out they only do them on Sundays in the summer. But I enjoyed speaking Spanish with the people and just absorbing things. The rains have arrived, to everyone's relief. Got into town last Saturday and nobody was home at my cousin's house, so I went to a payphone to call her at work. After I was done talking I lit up a smoke. A guy walking by told me if I had done that yesterday I would have been arrested. They had just lifted a ban on all outdoor smoking, and they were serious about it. They arrested a guy crossing the street who had a cigarette in his hand. Yow! That's hardcore. Pretty silly to ban smoking in the downtown area where there is asphalt everywhere. Not back home yet. Still in Ruidoso, gotta help my cousin move this weekend. Hope everyone's behaving themselves.
