Scumbria, what you say is just one of two possibilities. We all hope that happens. But this approach is a double edged sword in that those Palestenians who are currently neutral and even those who may be leaning towards supporting Israel, may become enraged and then opt to go against Israel. Remember than no society can agree with a policy which punishes innocent folks. It is like holding the families responsible for the actions of others.

Israels approach may also alienate it from other countries who may agree with their anti-terror efforts but not with their approach of punishing the families as some of those countries may consider that as a posthumous hostage taking.

I hope the Israeli nation will succeed in impressing upon their leaders to cease and desist from such an approach. After all is this not what Saddam does to his Kurdish and Iraqi folks who oppose his regime? Think about that.
