Stockman Scott:THe single big story is (my original thoughts)and feeling for years is that the large firms got together about 1975 and decided to can all separate account experienced stockbrokers who had succeded in their business on their own wits and talent-i.e they retained and grew their business's because they enhanced their client's net worth.(Real money making brokers were always rare and now almost non-existant)Big firms got greedy and said hey man we can fire these guys and hire idiots to just read a scripted/mutual fund sales pitch crafted salaciously by our PR people. Thereby scrapping all our clients sparate account funds into( money earned/gathered in previous years of cold calling- by very hard working former broker's efforts) into their own mediocre propriitarry mutual funds.----Over next 27 years money swept into a corner by these incredable crooked and greedy firms succeeded in getting an entire generation to mistakingly believe they could "be their own brokers!"-PLAYED ON THEIR ARROGANT EGOS!How stupid like saying you can be your own brain surgeon. Now it has all been mishandled and the big firm exeutives are fleeing/jumping ship! Now That is the story!---I was there and a victim and watched it happen-wbm
