Like Emile, you are quick to attribute your own "impression" as if they are words written by another person. These sorry attempts to read between the lines and come up with slants that you can use to try and discredit another poster are sad and unworthy of much discussion. Emile apparently has a problem with Jews, or his posts sure come across as someone who is an anti-Semite. I grant you that your posts usually have more tact, although I continue to question your motives here since you have rarely, if ever, seen things "from the other side".
Getting back to your most resent post to me, I did not say anything about the press, whether it was focused on Israel or it's neighbors. I simply suggested that those who accuse Israel of oppression should take very long and hard look at Israel's enemies to see the oppression occurring in the neighboring countries before rushing to judgements. Oppression on either side of this conflict is inherently wrong. I was pointing out the fact that you are quick to blame one side but fail to see the disturbing events on the opposite side.
I believe that your statement that Arab countries get zero good press is a joke. This is far from the truth as I read plenty of "good" things about Arab countries but that wouldn't help you with your constant attack on Israel, so you fail to recognize - or choose to ignore this fact. When the press questions Israel's Arab neighbors, they are quick to point out the plight of women in these countries, the plight of any non-Arab, the plight of the Arab "refugees" and their treatment from a so-called friendly country. They are quick to question the change in stance of the Arab neighbors from their destruction of Israel position to their new found acceptance of their neighbor. They are justified in asking these questions.
You, Thomas M, are justified in asking many of the difficult questions you ask of the Israelis and their supporters. Many of these questions have gone unanswered and deserve to be resolved amicably.
However, you are not justified in supporting the ongoing terror activities by radical Palestinians, Islamists or any other radical group. You are not justified in explaining the irrational behavior of people who do not value their own life or the lives of others around them. Just the same way supporters of Israel should be admonished for attempting to dismiss or ignore the civil rights of ANY CITIZEN. |
