Forgot to answer your question about Ruidoso. Yes, there are things to do here if you like going to the racetrack or the casinos. It's up in the mountains so there is a bunch of outdoor stuff to do at the resorts. The downtown area is turning into a little Taos, all kinds of artisans and other shops there now. In fact, its growing so fast my cousins are moving to a town 20 miles away, they're tired of it. When they moved here 20 years ago Ruidoso was a small town that not many people knew about. I guess it was inevitable this would happen, its a beautiful area and the mountain air is clean.
