It was a joke. (That's a set-up for Frank and ID who don't appreciate my humor. :)

However ...

That's true. My portfolio has certainly been decimated in the short term when measured from its high. However, as I was discussing with one of our threadmates this morning, I think if people focus on the long term they might be surprised how well they've done relative to the indexes. Though I've lost big-time to the indexes over the last two years, I'm trouncing the indexes over the last 7 and 12 years.
