Rwigham, Re: Those big up-ticks only happen during a bear market. These are short-covering rallies. I had a link to the statistics on these but can't find it. Here's a very good article describing these massive bear market rallies: zealllc.com So I guess it's a good idea to buy some puts the next day the Nasdaq rallies 5%+ in one day. Andreas
