India has gone into Pakistan several times in past conflicts and have withdrawn to its international borders. The hostility keeps coming back but India has not been expansionist. It is surrounded by Pakistan in the West, its ally China, a communist state in the North and East and the Muslim insurgents in the East. So like ISrael it is surrounded by hostile neighbors. But unlike Israel, it does not have expansionist tendencies.
