Jim, customers who picked WCOM are anti AT&T people. So as an alternative they would go to Sprint. Sprint is also hiring (not many, but not laying off) techies at its Kansas location. I have not seen any positions coming up for AT&T. AOL is migrating from WCOM to Sprint.

On the other hand, AT&T handles WCOM's overflow traffic. When a WCOM fiber cut occurs, WCOM routes traffic through AT&T's network. So as WCOM cuts service they may make a deal with AT&T.
