San Antonio Named Sweatiest City

July 22, 2002

NEW YORK (AP) -- How tough is it to make this top ten list?
You couldn't exactly say it's no sweat! Old Spice, the
deodorant company, has come out with a list of the top ten
sweatiest cities.

San Antonio, Texas, tops the list. Dallas-Fort Worth and
New Orleans are next.

Old Spice says it calculated the sweat level using the
average height and weight of U-S men and women and the
average high temperature and relative humidity in 51 U-S
cities during June, July and August.

Mark Davis, an Old Spice ``sweat expert'' based in
Cincinnati, prepared the rankings.

He says in addition to using the rankings to pitch Old
Spice's deodorants and antiperspirants, the company wants
to encourage people to take care of themselves in the
summer heat.

Here's a list of the top ten sweaty cities, according to an
analysis by Old Spice:

1. San Antonio

2. Dallas/Fort Worth

3. New Orleans

4. Houston

5. West Palm Beach, Fla.

6. Orlando, Fla.

7. Memphis, Tenn.

8. Tampa/St. Petersburg, Fla.

9.Phoenix

10. Miami/Fort Lauderdale
