golds are getting hurt for a number of reasons here imho

deflation fears are whipped with each new Bankruptcy

margin calls to finance the leveraged losses

it will take time for investors to realize gold's power as a deflation hedge also
and strong stocks always get hit when huge downdrafts occur

I stick with my views of upcoming currency crises and banking crises
the dollar decline hurts foreign export-based economies,
hurts foreign bank depository required asset values

the double dip recession will emerge from Asia first, in my opinion
they have shakey banks
they have lost profit margins
they have big USTBonds holdings
they gave us Asian Meltdown, part I in 1997

I think a big unstated misperceived reason for gold's rise is the crises mentioned above
they are in early stages now
but in the meantime, buying opps abound in the golds
