Just talked to Acclaim's Investor relations.

1. He seemed to think the recent stock price was mostly related to the large number of shorts in the stock.

2. Turok appears to be on time.

3. Most of the orders by retailers for the first installment of Turok will be in place by mid August or a bit before - to meet the delivery deadline of September 1st.

4. Anything going out the door counts as an order from a retailer counts as revenues. So they will have a good idea of Turok sales by mid august. I asked him about the "factoring" mentioned by the analysts. From what I understand, to get the cash in their hands faster this last quarter, a number of titles were sold to a "factor" which took a small cut and then sold them to the retailers. This reduced the time that it took to get cash from the sales of the items, but doesn't effect overall revenues

5. In the next couple weeks, the big marketing campaign begins. In theaters, magazines, stores etc.

My comments....
6. Once they begin shipping Turok in mid-August, a lot of reviewers will get their hands on the finished products, and the more serious reviews can begin.

7. The last Turok series sold $250 million so they have a strong channel for the title. Also something like 8,000 Blockbuster stores out there should be ordering from 30 to 45 titles each (10 to 15 for each console), so a good base with which to begin.
