The only reason for Israel success is the USA and their ability to talk us out of our money.

Israel had the most successful diversified economy in the region even before the US became a major donor.

The main reason for their current dependence on our aid is the cost of maintain a military strong enough to deter or defeat an Arab coalition against them. If Israel's borders where as peaceful as say our border with Canada and they faced no terrorist threat then they could get by without our aid (although the transition would still be somewhat painful for them)

That $100 bil. of aid is a lot but it is less then one year of their GDP. In the 53 years since 49. Obviously US aid is not the only reason for Israel's economic success.
