I agree they could cause trouble possibly a lot of trouble. I just think that if you take the current situation with only the change that Al-Qaida and Taliban get more aggressive that the trouble would be containable.

If you situation changes a lot, for example if the regional governors start a cival war against each other and/or the central government then the Taliban would have more of an opening. If the US walks away from the whole situation then the Taliban could become a bigger problem for Afghanistan then they are now, but with no civil war, and no US abandoning of Afghanistan then I think that the Taliban is unlikely to be able to take over, or even cause everything to collapse.
