ESS Technology Introduces High-Quality Digital Audio Solutions For Audio/Video Receivers
FREMONT, Calif., July 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ESS Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: ESST - News), a leading provider of silicon solutions for digital video, digital home entertainment systems, and home networking solutions announced today that the company has begun sampling its new high speed digital audio decoder, the ES4008, to meet the demand for high-quality digital audio from Audio Video Receivers (AVR) and TV systems. With the introduction of the ES4008 product family, ESS Technology is expanding its consumer products offering beyond digital video players to meet the needs of the growing high-quality digital audio market.
The new ES4008 product is a single chip solution that provides 5.1 channels of high-quality audio output along with industry standard digital audio decoding such as Dolby® Digital (AC-3), Dolby Pro Logic®, Dolby Pro Logic II, and DTS Surround(TM). In addition the ES4008 supports the latest standards like DTS ES(TM), Bass management, and MPEG Advanced Audio Coding (AAC). For two speakers-only configurations, the ES4008 provides SRS TruSurround(TM) 3D-audio effect to give listeners the realism of multi-speakers audio.
The ES4008 digital audio decoder also comes with an On-Screen Display (OSD) controller to provide end-users with a 256 color setup menu that enables the consumer to select the audio format that best suits their home entertainment equipment arrangement. The ES4008 also includes a Sony/Philips Digital Interface (S/PDIF) output to allow for sharing of high fidelity digital audio to other consumer electronics equipment.
