Joh:

Let's remember that BCE is being mostly driven by the move in NTL not by Canadian interest rates. The latest calculation of the worth of one share of BCE is:

NTL has 261,687,000 shares outstanding. At $146.40, the capitalization is $38.3 billion. BCE holds 51%, worth $19.54 billion.

BCE has 636,000,000 shares outstanding. At $44, the market cap is $28.6 billion.

Thus one share of BCE is made up of $30.70 for the NTL holding and $13.30 for the rest of BCE's holdings. BCE is thus 70% NTL and 30% other holdings.

I will follow your advise. Sell my long position out at $45, then go short and cover next week at $42.60.

Dave
