Are you aware that Bush Jr. placed the American troops in the Philipines under the direct command of the Philippine army. Not the U.N., not an American liason, not the Red Cross, but the Philippine Army.

The US military was reportedly not happy with the inclusion of provisions in the document giving Philippine commanders authority over American forces in the field.

One such provision reads: “Nothing shall infringe on the AFP Unit Commander’s authority.” In another, “US forces at all levels shall comply with the operational instructions of the AFP Unit Commander and at no instance shall they operate independently within Philippine territory.

But the contentious word “command” would not be dropped from the TOR, Defense Secretary Angelo Reyes had said.

Bush jr. was just glad he didn't have to command them.
