Yes, scott...as you've likely seen on CFZ and other SI threads... ...as have I, there is much cynicism about all of the 'reports' from the various government sources about the integrity of the statistics per se that 'assure us' that the economy is 'recovering.' Personally, I think it totally bogus ... front page news here in Austin on Sunday was about some very interesting 'problems' facing the 'robust' residential real estate industry in this state ... seems that homeowners' insurers are simply refusing to insure any structure with prior water damage claims -- even if the structure has been razed and the property owners are planning to build from ground up. The insurance thugs, apparently, have been able to 'work with the State Board of Insurance to EXEMPT homeowner's insurance from STATE REGULATION. They've set up subsidiaries to exploit a profitable loophole!!! ------snip ------ <<Awareness may be increasing, but not regulatory action. LOL. Just like "last time." A point that the RWEs conveniently overlook when they talk about "approval". I'd love to hear the results of an intelligently constructed question like this: "In view of the apparent insider trading that President Bush engaged in at Harken Energy, do you feel that it is time to commence impeachment proceedings?" I'd bet real money that a significant number of respondents would answer "Yes," or "Maybe" ... ... or "the sooner the better" ... -g- A poll is only as good as its methodology, as I'm sure you learned during your MBA program re market research as did I. The technique of most mainstream media polls is decidedly biased towards "supporting" the sitting President and not raising "disturbing" questions.... bia
