Baldur, Your post reminds me of a conversation in my corporations class in law school about 40 years ago. The question was whether it is a violation of the directors fiduciary duty to not pay a cash dividend when the company was making huge profits year after year. Everybody agreed it was. I do not understand how companies like Microsoft and Cisco can accumulate huge amounts of cash and never pay a cash dividend. I do agree that dividends will become increasingly important to investors.
