Just got this response from Paul Desmond:

We've just had three 80% downside days back to back. There are only a few similar cases in our 70 year history. That is not enough cases to come up with any meaningful probabilities as to what should occur from this point forward. One case occurred near a significant market bottom, two occurred in the early stages of significant market declines. The bottom line is that multiple 80%
downside days do not appear to have any significance as to future market direction. The lack of 90% Downside Days, in my opinion, tells us a whole lot more about what will probably occur in the weeks and months ahead.
