IBM takes wraps off 300-Mhz Pentium II workstation

On Wednesday, IBM announced a 300-MHz workstation, adding the fastest Pentium II processor available today to its lineup of Intellistation workstations.
The IntelliStation M Pro 300-MHz model features 128 to 512MB of memory, 512KB error-correcting code cache, and Intergraph Intense3D graphics with 20MB of memory.
The IntelliStation M Pro 266-MHz model is currently available in both 2-D and 3-D versions. Both the 266 and 300 MHz come standard with Windows NT 4.0 pre-loaded and offer a variety of IBM advanced manageability and security features, including Wake on LAN, Intel's LANClient Control Manager, and IBM AssetCare.
IBM plans to make the 300-MHz model, priced at $9,775, available on July 31.
