The Photoshop tests look legitimate to me. The data looks convincing to me. The fact is that 5 years ago Mac processors stomped x86 processors in FPU and were at or faster at CPU, and now they are getting stomped in CPU and arguably beaten even in FPU, and have markedly faster RAM and better data transfer. This is a trend and it looks like it will continue.

The real fact is that PPC development under Moto has SUCKED BIG TIME and the future only looks good on Moto roadmaps that have consistantly had a lot of bad information for the past 5 years. We who suggest that x86 machines might be a good move eventually are looking at the past data and guessing that this trend will continue. I see nothing that suggests a breakthrough. Rather, I see more problems now, not just the CPU but memory bus problems. We are suggesting that at some point a transition or opening up might be wise. If that is true then hopefully Apple will do it before it's TOO LATE.

If Apple looked at this as Allen suggested this "Problem" might turn into an opportunity. Hopefully Apple is looking at this.
