Tim; We all understand that Israel is NOW (today) the most successful, diversified economy in the region, but they were not back in 1949. I don't believe any country of that region was. If you want to say that Israel was the best of the worst, then be my guest. Ever since 1949 we have held Israel by the hand and patted them on the back on up to the present. Due to the fact that they are so successful and diversified TODAY why are we still giving them billions annually? Let them spend their own money from their great diversified success. The 100 billion I mentioned was taken from the following link. They must have rounded the numbers. iacenter.org The U.S. has given over 100 billion dollars to Israel, more than the total combined aid to Latin America, the Caribbean and sub-Saharan Africa.
