You mean like the Gothic Cathedrals, the development of great universities in France, England, Italy and Spain, the expansion of Church music, Charlemagne's development of the political concept of Western European Christianity, the development of monastic learning and schools--in other words, the giants of that age were laying the foundation for the development of the greatest civilization the world had ever known--the Christians European Civilization. The foundations of our art, literature, science, music, educational systems, and democratic systems have their roots in this period this period of "perverse religious ideas". Little people who stand on the shoulders of giants should never condemn the lowliness of the giant's feet. |
