Teri, It's a completely "inside Board" except for Larry Sonsini, who works for the company's external counsel, Wilson Sonsini. So the CEO could fire any of them in a heartbeat. CEO could not have a more powerful position relative to the board. Though he says in the article that he never kills the messenger, who knows? He might still mutilate him if the messenger comes to the door. Does he engender the trust of his employees so they WANT to bring him the information? I don't get a sense of the answer from the article. I'm not sure that such accessibility is compatible with the "star system". Sounds like he may be feared. MIT BS and Stanford MS. HWP 12 years. Guess I can't hold that against him. <G> At 57, I doubt he's ready to retire. SC (having a bit of trouble getting the institutional shareholder data from Stock Smart. Either my line or theirs is very slow tonight)
