16 years Sam. Where does that number come from? Is it because the last one lasted about that long thru the seventies? Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it i guess is your mantra with this call. I dont believe for a minute that the period we are in now in any way resembles the 70's UNLESS we get bogged down in the war on terror and this enron/wcom/banking fiasco goes alot further. That =s depression in my view. 15% chance of that but a much greater chance that we will have a significant rebound led my tech next year. I think the bubble bull market days are behind us and demographic pro market arguments are now neutralized by what has/is happening now. So I would look for moderate growth of the averages. I would put the dow range at the end of three years in the 8000-13000 area. I too cant begin to guess nasdaq--maybe 3000 as a top. mike
