Net-net, it would be very difficult unless 1) They had a decent cash cushion (seems unlikely) 2) They have shorts they can cover (only applies to hedge funds) 3) They have an unlimited line of credit with the banksters (hmmm, well, BubbleBoy DID have a meeting with JPM today allegedly). If there's been forced selling up until now, the cash cushion is depleted, at least in some funds and families, so the only way they can buy (net) is to wait for redemptions to come in. But who knows, really.
