And just for the record, its my understanding that homosexuality is not treatable mainly because its no longer considered a psychological illness.
I personally think that homosexuality is completely a choice of the individual, but I think it is the homosexuals who claim that it is a "condition", that they were born that way, and don't really have a choice (kind of an attempt to join the army whiners claiming to be victims of one kind or another).
Joe, first off, I shouldn't stereotype but I will. What is this issue with men on these threads that people who complain at all are whiners? Its repeated over and over again by posters. Frankly, people whine because they are in some of sort of mental and physical pain whether they are a minority, homosexual, suffering from an illnesse etc. Its true that it can be unpleasant but its part of the human condition. And its also true that some people whine at much lower thresholds of pain than others but so what?!!
I bring this issue up because I think whining is a good thing, not a bad thing. Living this life is not easy and whining offloads some of the stress we accumulate during any given day. This issue is particularly true for men. Men over 21 have a much higher percentage of depression then women. And what is depression but inverted anger.......pain and anger not expressed. So its possible to conclude that our higher level of depression results from not expressing our anger and pain on a more regular basis. In other words, men need to whine more............so stop whining about the whiners. Whining can make us feel better and less depressed.
In fact, I am going to whine right now. I am really p*ssed at the markets. I bust my hump doing research on stocks, determining which ones have the best fundamentals, figuring out the best entry points, etc. I build up my portfolio in a sh*t market over time so I have a nice profit only to have 30% of my portfolio, including my profit and a piece of my principle, wiped out in three days. DAMN! P*SS! FUKK!! %&^#^%&**&**%#&*%!! There, I feel much better now.
But just for the sake of argument, suppose I am wrong, and the homosexual "leaders" are right, and it is a "condition" that they have no control over. Doesn't it lend support to those who say it can be treated?
I guess you missed my point...........you treat a condition or a disease. However, its my understanding that the medical community or whomever determines these things has stated that homosexuality is not an illness or mental aberration that needs treating........so why would you treat it?
Or suppose it is genetic. Shouldn't the NIH sponsor research into which genes cause this condition? Shouldn't a test be developed and be given to pregnant women, so that the parents can find out early, and abort the baby, I mean perform the procedure to remove the fetal tissue from the womb? </tong in cheek>
Supposed it is genetically linked.........you could abort those people carrying the gene. But why stop there.....how about aborting those with down syndrome or some other neurological and/or physiological condition? How about girl genes........just produce enough women for sex...........women are not nearly as productive in society as men? How about dark haired, dark eyed individuals.........shouldn't we be going for blond and blue-eyed or green-eyed.......they tend to have more fun? And how about foreign born or mixed race children.......shouldn't the genes be manipulated so that the children look more like the dominant race? And what about intelligence........assuming we find the gene that controls intellect, then shouldn't we limit the number of IQs below 150? Suppose there are genes that control passitivity and anger, shouldn't we encourage passitivity and no anger?
Restrict homosexuality thru genetic control, why not!
