how about aborting those with down syndrome or some other neurological and/or physiological condition?

It is very much an option these days. There are some early tests that are widely used, reimbursed by insurance companies. There are also some other genetic disorders, or a potential for disorders that can be caught early.

You can question the ethics of abortion, but if you are not opposed to abortion as a matter of principle, what's the problem with aborting the babies with potential for disorders? Shouldn't these be the first ones to be aborted?
