APPL to make Ellison Box? via NY Times >In an effort to counteract the company's sales woes -- revenue for the quarter fell to $1.74 billion, from $2.18 billion a year earlier -- Apple has apparently embarked on the crash development of a new hardware project. People familiar with it said Tuesday that Steve Jobs, one of the company's founders and a former chairman who has taken a renewed leadership role, had ordered the project. They said it might involve a network computer -- an inexpensive machine for browsing the Internet, of the type propounded by the chairman of Oracle, Larry Ellison.< nytimes.com
