"Less than a McDonalds Happy Meal?"

I want to see Ronald McNealy dressed up in a clown suit!

The price for the stock is shockingly low. Of course, I said the same thing as my SGI stock headed to the same levels a few years ago...and watched it drop to about 50 cents a share before slightly recovering.

Sun's business model seems out of phase with the market. Even engineering firms are skipping Sun workstations in favor of cheaper and "industry-standard" PCs with better graphics, cheaper peripherals, and more software.

Which leaves servers...except Intel is eating the server market from below (80%). Historically, this is bad news for the "above" company...almost never does the higher-end product eat the market from above.

Looks like Sun will "reinvent itself" as a bundler of Intel and AMD chips, just as SGI tried to do a few years ago.

And given than Solaris will have to be abandoned, for obvious reasons cited above, where's that leave Sun? Without Solaris, without the SPARC family, what do they do better than Dell or even Gateway does?
