Andrew, since you asked, I love cats!!! I had a beautiful, VERY long-haired black one named Raven when I was a tiny little girl, who was always blessing us with three or four adorable kittens at a time. Since then I have almost always had a cat or two. Right now I have a long-haired tortoise-shell, Lizzie, who is my own live teddybear kitty and sleeps on my tummy under the covers at night. The rest of my life, she tries to live curled up on my shoulders. Some people might allege that I am a horrible witch and she is my familiar. I am not sure about that! There isn't even a fire under the cauldron tonight. I just know that cats have always been very attracted to me. My own personal theory is that cats seek people out. You can decide to love dogs, and they will respond, but to have a good relationship with a cat, it is the cat who chooses you. As far as catfights, I am not very good at them, and don't like them at all. I like a lot of serenity around me!
