Update: **Survey results**

First, I intend running this for a few weeks so keep sending #'s
The survey sample size has vastly grown. SI estimates the
lurker/poster ratio at 3 or 4 to 1. The ratio for the survey
is 6:1 -- way to go lurkers! Thanks to all participants thus far.

The preliminary results for this survey released on 7/15

Zip: 16.8
Jaz: 4.0

The increased sample size is almost 4x the first:

Zip: 14.17
Jaz: 4.82

There are some unusually high reports from some
respondants who also re-sell some of the disks.
As this may induce 'double-counting', when taken
out, the Zip tie ratio becomes: 12.25

The Jaz numbers are only slightly higher than expected.
Zip numbers, however, are larger to an unexpected degree.
The poll responses indicate IOM is doing very well
with '10-pack' sales.

Two caveats:
1. The sample size is still too small for full confidence. Keep sending.
2. I believe SI attracts more 'tech' minded individuals that may, by
necessity, use more storage product. Are we getting the 'Moms & Pops'
who may only use 1 or 2? The smallest response for Zip is 3, the
largest is 90.

All interested parties should email to: bill@magneticdiary.com
The question is: How many Zip/Jaz drives do you use; how many disks?

The Magnetic Diary home office in San Rafael, CA reports:
"The commuter traffic today was hell!"
