Why do they have to say " Dow Jones Industrial Average".
what is wrong with just saying "Dow"

The Dow Jones Transportation Average
The Dow Jones Utilities Average
The Dow Jones 65 Average

Actually, they often do call it the "Dow". Just not when DJIA is the specific subject.

Arch Crawford is now calling the market bottom because of the full moon. When asked about the effect of the current solar flares, he said that was harder to explain. (Oops, a question not on the cheat sheet!) He then went on to explain that it's really the heavy protons that are keeping the market down.

And to think that you guys are SO serious in your contentions that viewers are swayed by every word a so-called analyst utters on CNBC.

Crawford wasn't asked if he owned any stocks. He wasn't even asked if he owned a brain.
