Sam, PnF is slower to give signals. Candlesticks are day to
day. Look at the PnF chart stockcharts.com

The buy signal was given when the second column of Xs [from
the right] reached $19.50. I was never cancelled because
subsequent columns of Os never got down to $16, lower than
previous column of Os]. The three rightmost columns of Os
show higher lows. That buy signal occurred on July 5. when
price exceeded $19.50 intraday. Prices are OHLC

On the candle chart you can imagine a trendline connecting the bottoms starting July 1. It slopes up.

The bottom of July 2. was never breached again.
Since PnF gives no more than one signal a day - and no signal at all on many days - it is not favored by day
traders. [there are some who have custom programs to make 5 minute PnF charts]
