Now running on the XP2200+

I ordered it with an OCZ Goliath SE heatsink/fan combo. The fan runs at only 3500 RPM, so it's nearly silent. CPU is at about 46C with this quiet, low speed fan.

It's a very fast PC, and it's a very quiet one, too.

Not much else to say, except that all the sturm and drang that Thoroughbred uses too much power because it uses 3 or 4 more watts than Northwood doesn't seem to hold up in the real world.

This is a really nice PC, noticeably (if not hugely) faster than the Athlon Thunderbird 1400 sitting next to it - and much quieter. I never really noticed the noise (the 1400 had a 6,000RPM fan and a P4 style blowhole case) until I switched it off and switched on the new Thoroughbred with the OCZ Heatsink/fan and no P4 style blowhole.

The 1400 ran 58C to 62C (7x24, never, ever having any trouble at all) the new 2200+ runs 46C - only time will tell if it will be as superbly reliable as the 1400 has been.
