The whiz bang technology is good to the extent that it enables operators to provide better service more efficiently. The FCC did us all a disservice by having 5 or more operators per major trading area. Operators are forced now to cut costs (in order to survive) and the first to suffer are the optimization and maintenance of these networks. We may be paying less for wireless usage but look at the quality of our city networks compared to Asia and Europe.
