Gottfried, distribution is something that usually starts at the top, but distribution can also mean:

This can happen anywhere in the cycle of a share price. I forget where I read it this weekend, but I read that the pro's were pumping up the SOX only to pound it back down as we rookies were trying to buy the elusive momentum into the sector. I don't know if that's true or not, but the pro's are certainly holding a lot of shares in the semi sector and if the SOX is going to drop further, I can only assume the pro's will want to distribute those shares to us. The only logical way for that to happen is to pump the sector and sell the rally.
