Don we did have the Goldman Sachs upgrade on Friday. We need a few more upgrades to keep us from sinking further.

While the economy has been surprisingly good we still have not seen evidence of a business led recovery. Only MSFT is talking about hiring new employees. Most companies have watched their stock prices as they have been decimated.

I go through thousands of stock symbols each month. The rate of bankruptcy is alarming. In addition numerous companies are announcing reverse stock splits. Many of these companies still have plenty of cash available but cannot meet minimum price listing requirements for the NASDAQ.

They are generally losing cash rather than making money so many of these companies would like to borrow against their companys' book value but who is lending?

It does not matter how low interest rates are until the market stabilizes. Money is not now readily available to public companies that are currently unlikely to be profitable for an extended period of time. That is one reason why we do not have a business led recovery.
