mm, before you get married to the VIX, you might want to look back and see that when the VIX spiked in the bottoms you mentioned, the VXN did also. The VXN hit a new high on Friday, hardly confirming a bottom in tech. I said this before, when we go down, we're one big happy family. Do not believe for an instant that one index can hit a long term bottom while other ones still have not. I don't believe it is possible, and we must have VXN confirmation of any medium term bottom.
