OT: Jay, US$2k/Month in China sounds about right for a capable and lucky person. I know a Chinese who was working in a big US pharmseutical company (American Home Products) just takes an offer for a teaching position in a Chinese university (I forgot which one, maybe ZheJiang University) with a contract of 200,000 Yuan/Year and a decent 3-bedroom apartment, that is actually more than US$2k/Month if you take into account of that apartment, because that means there is no more rent. (And I do not know how about others, I have to pay 36% of my after tax income for monthly rent). And he actually got his PhD from China, and came here for a couple of years for Postdoc, and then worked. If I had an offer like this, I will go back in a heartbeat. hehe
