O/T Twick, if you get a chance, stay at the Peninsular Hotel or the Regent in Hong Kong. Hong Kong is kind of dead, but the view from the Regent at night is unrivaled anywhere in the world, IMO.

Bali is OK, but way over-rated, IMO. The beaches suck. I prefer Moorea in Tahiti.

I've never been to Australia. Japan is OK, but I it freaks me out how organized they are.

Actually, the more I've been to places in the world, the more I've come to appreciate all the great places here in the USA. Often times just because a place is somewhere else, we think it's better, especially beaches.

If you're into exotic stuff, you can't really do much better than Cannes during the busy season. For people watching, I like Venice Beach, CA.
