Nice, JDN--maybe you would (as does our President), support putting a fox in charge of the henhouse because he was so familiar with the intracacies of how to move stealthily around the farmyard...

If Bush really wanted to do the right thing, he would have asked Arthur Levitt (Clinton's SEC Chair) to stay on...Levitt's reforms, many of them anyway, were shot down by Congress (including by Democrats, I'm chagrined to say), and had they been made law, the current corporate crisis would have been very much mitigated

Why? Would you rather have someone unfamiliar with SEC operations at a time when it appears the SEC is going to play a far more prominent role in Corporate governance then ever before? Previous Chairman says Pitt is THE BEST. jdn
