For forty years before the present law, there was NO capital gains on a house under IRC Sec. 1234(?) in conjuction with IRC 2015 , now it has been limited to .5 Million.

That is a REDUCTION in the tax benefit.

Jeez, everybody's a friggin' real estate expert.
