Honestly Ray, I don't believe there is a conspiracy to lock up Blacks in this country. For one thing, it is expensive. Granted there is a disparity between sentencing between Blacks and Whites, which strongly supports the claim of racial bias. Ultimately though people must deal with their lives at a personal level and if there is an unhealthy sub-culture it does not help.

I'll give you a military example. In the military rank is everything. Whether you are fat, dumb, or ugly means nothing next to your rank. Soldiers are trained to follow orders regardless of the abilities of their superiors. That is how the system works. Those who reject the system have no chance of success.

Likewise in the private sector people must play by the rules. If your boss fires you because he doesn't like your looks it is unfair, but if you rob a store because you need the money you are going to jail. Breaking the rules can never be rationalized. The world is kinder to some than it is to others, often with no apparent reason, good or bad. Those whose fail to understand how to operate within the system will likely be doomed to failure regardless of anything else.

Non-conformists often want to change the rules and that is an option. It should be recognized however that those who choose to take this path have the least likelihood of success. As such this is a choice that the potential cost should be carefully weighed.
