Then you are disbelieving that Gov. Ryan of Illinois found that there was extreme bias in the application of the death penalty in that state? That, in fact, there is an extreme correlation between socio-economic location and the imposition of incarceration?
A really interesting statistic I just ran across is that the total amount of money lost in bank robberies last year amounted to about $3.8 Billion. And about 1,000 perpetrators were indicted. Compare that to the losses to 401(k) holders, pension funds, shareholders and fired employees in a $2 Trillion loss to investors, much of it caused by criminal operations like Enron, Global Crossing, WorldCon, Qworst, etc. And so far you can count the indictments on two hands. Is there something terribly wrong with this picture? I sure think so. YMMV. Maybe you like crooks once they achieve membership in the right country club and ZIP code? Just kidding......
