For starters, there is the Saudi National Guard, a distinct different military arm from the regular army.

Yes, I am aware that there are a number of entities within the Saudi military structure. I was looking for information on the probable allegiance of these entities in the event of an attempt by fundamentalists to take over the Government.

Any political upheaval will result in one side "inviting" the US in on it's side. The other side gets labeled "fundamentalist"

At least one side, probably more than one, is likely to deserve the label.

Who cares if fundamentalists take over SA anyway.

If they start financing and protecting Al Qaeda and similar groups, I would imagine that some people would care. I'd be one of them, and I'm not exactly a war-mad hawk.
