Companies buying back own shares: usatoday.com - I think we need more of this. Companies should put more of their money where their mouth is. (Especially companies with large amounts of cash) - Not to mention some possible pluses like (for instance): + Higher earnings per share (less shares outstanding) + Companies don't pay dividends on shares retired to their treasury (I think) + Exhibits confidence in your own company + & if you are going to buy back stock, makes sense to ' buy low' (or near it's low) !
