Why are you indignant that "this incarnation" of the Republican party should claim the right to define the left-right divide when they have at least a plurality, if not a majority of the voters? Who should get to say, 5% or 50%?

Nicely argued. But last time I checked the Republicans lost the one big national election that counted. I forget the percentages but they got perhaps .1% less than the Dems. Of course, the Senate is not Rep. So not even a plurality.
