what's to wonder??

our country has RUN OVER everyone in front of us...
and BACKED OVER everyone behind us since WWII,
except for the years between 1992 and 2000
when we were busy reinventing america for
entry into the new networked global
economy ---- the graybeards and
smokestacks hated that decade.
they lost a LOT of wealth
on paper to young punk
entreprenuers who
were willing to
burn both ends
of the candle,
use computers,
take risks,
and change
direction
at the
drop
of
a
hat.

they
haven't got
it all back yet
but at least they've
stopped the entreprenuers
and regained control of what
capital there is remaining. they've
even convinced most investors that the
whole decade was an ignorant, idiotic folly
that created a bubble that they were kind enough
to pop for us before anyone got hurt or collected
too much of that wealth that was leaking out of their
treasure chests. war is hell, but it keeps the old economy
in control and the graybeards from losing their assets to youth.
